The TEBAR Project Officer will assist in implementing the TEBAR (Sustainable Shrimp Farming) program in Sumbawa and Lombok, focusing on improving shrimp farming productivity, ensuring adoption of JALA technologies, and supporting the GALS (Gender and Livelihood Support) initiative to empower women in shrimp farming households. The Project Officer will work directly with shrimp farmers and local communities to provide support, collect data, and coordinate field activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Support & Program Implementation
- Assist in the day-to-day execution of TEBAR activities, working closely with shrimp farmers to implement better farming practices.
- Provide support for GALS activities, promoting gender-inclusive opportunities and livelihoods for women in the community.
- Facilitate the adoption of JALA’s technology solutions for farm monitoring and management.
Data Collection & Monitoring
- Collect data from shrimp farmers on farming practices, feed conversion ratios (FCR), survival rates (SR), and average body weight (ABW).
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to farmers on their performance in relation to program goals.
- Ensure accurate and timely data reporting to the Community Development Manager for analysis.
Community Engagement & Training
- Organize and facilitate training sessions for farmers on best practices for shrimp farming, data management, and technology usage.
- Assist in delivering financial literacy and entrepreneurship training for women involved in the GALS initiative.
- Act as the first point of contact for farmers needing support, guidance, or troubleshooting in farming practices or technology usage.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with farmers, local community leaders, and women participating in the GALS initiative.
- Collaborate with local field assistants (FA) and other team members to ensure successful implementation of project activities.
Reporting & Feedback
- Provide regular reports on the status of the project to the Program Manager, highlighting achievements, challenges, and potential improvements.
- Gather feedback from farmers and participants on the training, technology adoption, and other program aspects to continuously improve delivery.
