**Description:**Job Summary
Supervise the applications engineering team to provide pre- and post-sales support to customers and prospects, including applications, demonstrations and sales visits related to technology/specialty industry equipment
General Responsibilities
- Support superior in managing day-to-day operating expenditures against operating budgets to ensure efficient usage of resources
- Supervise the design and development of equipment and systems or redesign of existing equipment to fulfill the needs of customers
- Evaluate customer needs and recommend product features based on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations
- Work with line manager to develop technical proposals and solutions for customers based on their needs
- Study new products/technologies aligned with existing product lines to recommend enhancements or modifications
- Conduct product demonstrations/technical presentations to customers or at conferences to promote products and services
- Provide pre-sales technical support through presentations and customer visits
- Perform field inspections and site supervisions on system design/creation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing users
- Provide training to customers in post-sales and method development
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrate technical knowledge in scientific and medical instruments
- Demonstrate strong industry/market knowledge
- Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate fluency in local language and ideally in English, both written and spoken
Education
Degree in Engineering or Applied Science
