Job Description
Our client, a Top 5 mining company in Indonesia, is seeking a highly experienced Permit & External Affairs Senior Manager to lead permitting strategy and external stakeholder engagement in support of the company's operational continuity and expansion plans.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead and manage all permitting and licensing processes, ensuring full compliance with applicable mining, environmental, and forestry regulations.

  • Build, maintain, and leverage strong relationships with key regulators and government stakeholders, particularly within the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

  • Act as the key liaison between the company and external stakeholders, including central and regional government bodies, regulators, and relevant authorities.

  • Support the company's business growth and expansion initiatives by proactively securing permits and regulatory support in a timely and effective manner.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on operations, providing strategic advice to management.


The Successful Applicant
Key Requirements



  • Minimum 15 years of experience in permitting, external affairs, government relations, or regulatory roles within the mining industry.

  • Proven track record in obtaining, maintaining, and managing complex permits and licenses, particularly involving forestry and ESDM authorities.

  • Strong, established network across regulators, government bodies, and ministries; ability to engage credibly at senior levels.

  • Law degree is an advantage; candidates with strong legal and regulatory interpretation capabilities are highly regarded.

  • Background in public policy consulting firms or government regulatory bodies will be a strong advantage.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
